Chelsea Bridge
The Chelsea Bridge is a Suspended bridge anchored for the traffic between the north and the south of the the Thames to London, between Grosvenor Bridge and the Albert Bridge. The bridge was drawn per G. Topham Forest and was open the May 6th 1937, replacing an old suspended bridge on the same place.
The original bridge was a suspended bridge of 700 feet drawn with a principal span of 350 feet drawn by Thomas Page, built in 1851 and opened the March 28th 1858. The bridge was designed at the same time and like a complement of the Battersea Park. It was a bridge-toll until in 1879.
On northern bank, the bridge forms the border between Pimlico, in the surroundings of Westminster to the east, and Chelsea in the west; the royal hospital of Chelsea is immediately in western north. In southern bank Nine Elms in the east and Battersea in the west is. Battersea Power Station is directly in the south of is bridge and Battersea Park in the south of west.
