Chazelles (Haute-Loire)

Chazelles is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Loire and the area Auvergne.

The commune is next to in the south the country of Saugues, old capital of Gévaudan. On the feudal level, Chazelles concerned the castle of Montpeyroux whose lords were vassal of Evèque de Clermont Ferrand. Its church, dedicated to Saint-Pierre was a priory of Pébrac.
