Geography
History
Guy II, Count of Drill, yielded its rights on Chazelles in Forez, in 1148, with the knight S of Midsummer's Day of Jerusalem. These Templiers, which will become the knights of Malta, gave the name of Chazelles-on-Lyon to the commune, and brought, according to the legend, the technique of the felt (amalgamates hairs bound by pressing). 1889-tram of Chazelles: The tram, between the station of Viricelles-Chazelles and saint Symphorien-on-Coise, ensured the service of 1899 to 1933, while transporting an annual average of 100.000 travellers, and 15.000 tons of goods in the years records. 1933: Closing of the tram Viricelles - Chazelles and Saint-Symphorien-on-Coise (5 km),
