Chawki Mostefaï

Chawki Mostefaï is a political personality and history of the war of Algerian independence. It was born the November 5th 1919 with Me Sila (Algérie), 87 years old currently, it lives withdrawn of any public life and policy.

Biography

It enters to the elementary school of Bordj-Bou-Arreridj where it receives a French literary educational teaching. It enters then to the college of Sétif to continue secondary studies, where it successfully obtains its baccalaureat of Philosophie in 1938. Made academic works of medicine to Algiers (Algeria), intern with Toulouse then specializes in Ophtalmologie with Paris (France).

Between 1936 and 1937, he is member of the section of socialist youths (SFIO) with Sétif.

Chawki Mostefaï was missionné by the Provisional government of the Algerian Republic (GPRA), to negotiate with the OAS and in particular Jean-Jacques Susini last resistant of the “French Algérie”, the cessation of hostilities, of the burned ground and consequently, the recognition of the Accords of Evian of the March 19th 1962.
