Chavenay

Chavenay is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Chavenaysiens .

Geography

The old village is built on both sides valley of the Ru of Gally which crosses the commune of is in west and on a buttress overcoming the north of this vallée.
In the Years 1970, an important allotment residential was born in the North-East, on this buttress, in limit of the commune of Saint-Name-the-Bretèche and partly besides on the territory of the latter. At the beginning of the Years 2000, in the west of the old village, an allotment in social matter and a small zone of artisanal activity were created, thus connecting the locality of the Sugar refinery , slightly distant before, with the remainder of the habitat of the commune.

The communes bordering on Chavenay are Saint-Name-the-Bretèche in the North-East, Villepreux in south-east, Clayes-under-Wood in the south, Plaisir in the south-south-west on approximately 100 meters, Thiverval-Oil cake in the west, Davron in the North-West and Feucherolles in north.

The commune is crossed by the secondary road 74 which carries out, in the North-East, the secondary road 307 and Saint-Name-the-Bretèche and, in the west, the secondary road 30 (towards Plaisir in the south and Feucherolles in north). The secondary road 97 share of the village towards the east and leads to the secondary road 98 and Villepreux. By 2007-2008, the secondary road 109, currently connection between the secondary road 119 with Oil cake, in the west, and the secondary road 30 with Plaisir will be prolonged towards the east until the secondary road 98 with Villepreux and to almost cross the south of the communal territory in northern limit of the Clayes-under-Wood.

In the railway plan, the stations the closest SNCF are the Gare of Pleasure - Oil cake and the Gare of Villepreux - Clayes.

Chavenay is a commune primarily rurale.
In the south of the commune, on a relatively prominent hill between Chavenay and Clayes-under-Wood, is small the aerodrome of tourism of Chavenay.
