Chavelot
Chavelot is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.
Its inhabitants is called Chavelotais.
Geography
History
; The Roman period: The Romans created strategic and commercial ways which allowed the fast displacement of the legions towards Belgium and the Rhine. One of them passed to the bottom of the slope of Chavelot, parallel to the Moselle: that of Basle to Scarpone. This route, of Épinal to the Châtel-on-Moselle, became the trunk road 57. It was also called imperial Route.
