Chauvry
Chauvry is a common French, located in the department of the Val-d'Oise and the area Île-de-France. Its inhabitants is called Chauvriots. The village knew to preserve a rural character, illustrated by the presence of a producing preceded goat's milk cheese farm.
Geography
The village of Chauvry is located on the northern side of the Forêt of Montmorency, and dominates the valley of Chauvry as well as the Forêt of Isle-Adam.
The commune is bordering on Saint-Price, Saint-Leu-the-Forest, Béthemont-the-Forest, Villiers-Adam, Montsoult, Baillet-in-France and Bouffémont.
History
The origin of the name would come from Calvirius with the suffix - acum = " the de" field;. Some evoke an origin in the word goat.
The village seems to have been a prehistoric place of production of sandstone tools.
The existence of the village is attested at the 12th century under the name of Chalveri. The village lives since the Middle Ages until the 19th century primarily of the exploitation of the wood of the two neighbouring forests. Thomas Clouet, canon of Montmorency born with Bessancourt, made there build a church in 1547. The castle and its park, destroyed during the revolution, were properties of vassal lords of the duke of Montmorency. There remain only the commun runs today about it, under the name the Caretaker's lodge .
Except some residences at the 19th century, and a small allotment in the years 1970, few changes intervened in the life of the commune. The construction of the " Francilienne " (fast track) in the years 1990 met a strong opposition on behalf of the inhabitants, who contributed, in spite of his construction, with a better integration of the work to the site of the valley of Chauvry.

The church Saint Nicolas's Day , of XVIIe and XIXe centuries, has the effect of being embedded in a vast body of farm in the center of the village. This firm of the XVIIe century presents an entirely girded buildings and closed paved yard blind walls. It contains a dwelling of middle-class style.

The town hall-school, with simple pediment, dates from the Années 1880.
