Chaulnes is famous for its cultural events, and in particular its metal festival, the " Killer Fest ". Each year, it gathers more than 500 impassioned over one weekend. The last killer fest accommodated the " group; OBITUARY" , group of death metal.

Charles François Lhomond, grammairien and scholar, born in Chaulnes in 1727, deceased in Paris in 1794. Entered the orders, it devoted its life to teaching, and wrote several works of grammar and history, among which famous the Of viris illustribus.
