Chauffailles
Chauffailles is a common French, located in the department of Saône-et-Loire and the area Burgundy.
Heraldic
Chauffailles has as weapons a blazon whose heraldic definition is the following one: “Of mouths with three shells of gold to the die of same. ” These weapons are a crack of those of the Viscounts of Amanzé, lords of Chauffailles of 1380 to 1718 (“Of mouths with three gold shells. ”).

History
Chauffailles was formed around a vault dedicated to holy André along the Roman way connecting Augustodunum (Autun) and Lugdunum (Lyon). The place will be called thus Saint-Andrew until the appearance of the Toponyme Chauffailles (spelled Chofaye) in 1274.Les first known lords (at least starting from 1234) were the lords of Villon, related to the lords of Dun. In 1380, in the absence of inheriting male, the title of lord of Chauffailles passed to the lords of Amanzé by the marriage of Antoinette de Villon with Jean d' Amanzé. This one settled in Chauffailles, where it made build the castle. A church was at the same time built in the place of the old vault, but was destroyed at the 19th century.
So as of 1740 appears an activity of spinning mill and spinning of cotton and hemp, this activity really developed in 1842, thanks to the Lambert priest who made come from the weaving looms silk since Lyon. The textile activity will remain important in Chauffailles, which is reconverted into synthetic cotton and fibers when the industry of silk declined.
Administration
The mayor, Marie-Christine Bignon was elected in 2001 without hiding with the population his political affiliation but it was presented on an apolitical list. Since, she stated in a newspaper close to the FN (To trust to be it) to be elected mayor under label FN with more than 60% of the voices to the first turn.
