Chaudenay (Saône-et-Loire)

Chaudenay is a common French, located in the department of Saône-et-Loire and the area Burgundy, of approximately a thousand of inhabitants.
Its inhabitants is called the Chaudenaysiens .
This small Village is located in full heart of the valley of the Dheune and belongs to the area chalonnaise. Since January 1st, 2007, Chaudenay belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration Beaune Côte and South.
Geography
Located in full heart of the Burgundy and the Saône-et-Loire, Chaudenay is on the plate chagnotain, halfway between Beaune (in north) and Châlon-sur-saône (in the south), with approximately 15 kilometers of these last.
This small common is crossed by the Dheune (affluent of the the Saone).
History
Chaudenay was called with the Roman epoch Caldoneum then became Chaudenay with the Moyen-âge. The village took the name of Chaudenay-on-Dheune for the period being spread out Moyen-âge with the XX {{E}} century then became again Chaudenay (its current name).End of the XIX {{E}} century - beginning of the XX {{E}} century until in the the Fifties - the Sixties, Chaudenay was probably a very active Village. Many a Sabotier S, Menuisier S, grocers, craftsmen were côtoyaient in this small Village (with approximately 700 inhabitants at the time), but in spite of this small surface, and its average population, Chaudenay was a small very active borough with much of trade, which is not any more the case today.
Administration
Chaudenay is a commune which one can divide into three great parts; indeed one distinguishes Mimande and Créteuil " two périphéries" ratachées with the " old man center" Tigny.
