Chassey-lès-Montbozon
Chassey-lès-Montbozon is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Saône and the area Franche-Comté.
Its inhabitants is called the Chasséens and the Chasséennes .
Toponymy
Chace , 1183 (A. Rhône, 48 H. 3082), 1199 (AHS. H. 195), 1275 (pouillé). Chacey , 1406 (TOB.II.15).
Name of anybody of Latin origin Cassiuset and suffice - acum. Or lez: old preposition meaning “beside”.
Before the Revolution and the creation of the departments, the commune was called Chassey-lès-Rougemont.
Geography
- the commune of Chassey is primarily rural, with a territory devoted to the Agriculture: mainly the bovine breeding (production of milk) and the culture of Céréale S. the borough is crossed by the Ognon.

It House-of-Vau the
Hamlet which was common in 1790 (93 hab.) and in year VIII (82 hab.) joined together with Chassey by decree of March 31st, 1806. The order of the Temple had there a barn and a farm, additional of Commanderie the Dirty ones. With the dissolution of the order, it House-of-Vau belonged to the commandery of Villedieu in Fontenette.
Forging mill-of-Bonnal
The forging mills existed already in XVIe century and are undoubtedly older. They included/understood a blast furnace and three fires of forging mill. The blast furnace was extinct about 1840 and the forging mill stopped about 1860. The important hamlet that they constituted périclita then.

History
Pre Guillemin, excavations made it possible to put at the day a site occupation Gallo-Roman E, undoubtedly a river port, with in particular of the iron stylets being probably used to write on shelves.On the territory of the commune were at the 15th century of the forging mills, to exploit the Iron ore, and even a Haut-fourneau at the 19th century. - Jean Joseph César Duchon , born towards the 1759, deceased October 2nd 1826 with Chassey-lès-Montbozon, ironmaster. Married the June 3rd 1789 with Marie Therese Voisard. Marie Therese Voisard is the godmother of the second bell of the church.

Jean Etienne Bardenet , born in Chassey-lès-Montbozon the February 26th 1763 and dead the January 20th 1844 with Acey (70), cleaned of Mesnay (39).

Jean François Constantin de Crevoisier Baron de Vomécourt , born in Chassey-lès-Montbozon the May 25th 1899 and died around on February 12th 1945 with Orianenbourg in Germany, Mayor of Bonnal. Volunteer at 17 years in the Royal Air Force, cut down in 1917, seriously wounded. Demobilized after 9 months of hospital with the rank of lieutenant it obtains British nationality as reward. It enters resistance with his two brothers in 1941 and obtains spectacular successes like the destruction of German motor torpedo boats. Captain of FFI, it was stopped the July 26th 1942 imprisoned then with Besancon, then with Fresnes. Died for France in deportation. Its name is reproduced on the War memorial of Chassey-lès-Montbozon.

Its great-great-grandmother, Jeanne Célestine Duchon, born the September 29th 1805 in Chassey-lès-Montbozon is one of the girls of the couple Jean Joseph César Duchon and Marie Therese Voisard.
