At the time Roman, Cassinomagus, whose name could mean " the market with the chênes" , was a secondary agglomeration of urban type. The principal center of interest of Cassinomagus was large the Sanctuaire which was organized around large the Temple.
The site of the ancient thermal baths is classified historic building since 1959 and property of the General advice of Charente since 1983. It appears among the ancient thermal buildings best preserved Gaulle.
