-
Charquemont is famous in this sector for these tracks of Ski (alpine and Scandinavian). It is indeed the first Winter sports resort for the inhabitants of the country of Montbeliard.
- Charquemont is also famous for its economy related to the Horlogerie. The majority of employment which the inhabitants of the plate of Maîche occupy make in the clock industry, either in France in remaining industries, or in Suisse. Most of the clock making workers are thus frontier. The foreign exchange rate and the amount of the wages in Swiss francs have supported for more than thirty years the crossing of frontiers, which guaranteed still today a rather privileged average standard of living.
