Charon is a group of rock'n'roll Finnish formed 1992.

In spite of their beginnings Death metal, the group Finnish Charon gives now in the heavy metal, with influences goth rock'n'roll, based on a combination of melodies and atmospheres, thus creating a style melancholic which is clean for them. Although the group was formed in 1992, that their took five years before signing a first contract, with Emanzipation Productions. Charon launch their first album " Sorrowburn" in 1998. The following, " Tearstained" , is launched by the label Danish Diehard Records in 2000. After a round with Sentenced in spring 2000, they sign with Spinefarm Records, the label of heavy metal number 1 in Finland.

Charon calls upon the services of Mikko Karmila for their troisièreme album " Downhearted" (2002). Individual the " Little Angel" is then a major business success for the group, being raised with the #5 prize lists in Finland in December 2001. With its exit, " Downhearted" rose with the #3 Finnish prize lists. After a round with two of the most popular groups of symphonic metal in Europe, Nightwish and After Forever, Charon is found twice moreover with the signal of the prize lists in their country of origin, with " In Trust off No One" (#1) and " Religious/Delicious" (#8). These two songs are found on the album " The Dying Daylights" , appeared with the autumn 2003 and finding itself in 16th position for the sales of album in Finland. After this album, the guitarist Jasse von Hast leaves the group.
