Charly Grosskost
Charly Grosskost is a former racing cyclist on road and track French, born the March 5th 1944 with Eckbolsheim in the the Low-Rhine and deceased the June 19th 2004 with Saverne following a road accident in the bicycle in the area Strasbourg eoise.
Still amateur, it is declared positive with tests of doping and is suspended for 6 months (after being threatened of suspension with life). The following year, Charly Grosskost passed professional.
Professional of 1966 with 1975, it gained 31 victories.
He took part in 5 Tours of France. He had happiness besides to carry during the first 2 days the Yellow jersey of the Tour de France 1968 while gaining against the watch to Vittel, then the following stage of Vittel to the Esch-on-Alzette, and that the same day.
He was 9 times champion of France and vice-champion of the world 1971 of individual pursuit.
During its professional path, he was a faithful team-member of largest of the time: Jacques Anquetil, Lucien Aimar, Edward Salts, Raymond Poulidor and Shine Ocaña.
