Charlottenburg is a district of the town of Berlin, in Germany. It is located in the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Charlottenburg was an independent city, before being built-in with the Groß-Berlin (Large Berlin), and transformed into a district of the German capital. During administrative reforms of 2001, Charlottenburg amalgamated with Wilmersdorf, thus forming the fourth of the 12 districts of the city, located at the immediate west of Mitte, the central district.
Moreover, in 2005, the town of Charlottenburg commemorated its 300e birthday.
