Charlotte of Trémoille
Charlotte Stanley countess of Derby (1599 - 1664), born Charlotte of Trémoille was the girl of Claude of Trémoille and Charlotte-Brabantine of Orange-Nassau. The June 26th 1626, it married the 7th Count de Derby, James Stanley, lord of the island of Man.
She played a crucial role in the capitulation of the island of Man in front of the Parlement of London in October 1651, role which Mannois highly reproached him at the point for obliging to flee the island, in prey with an insurrection carried out by the patriotic leader Illiam Dhone.
She dies in Knowsley, close to London, the March 31st 1664.

Charlotte of Trémoille and James Stanley had four girls and five boys, of which four only reached the adulthood:-
Charles Stanley (19 janv. 1628 - Dec. 21 1672), future 8th count de Derby.
- Henriette Mary Stanley (Nov. 17 1630 - Dec. 27 1685), woman of William Wentworth, 2nd count de Strafford.
- Amelia Ann Sophia Stanley, woman of John Murray, 1st marquis d' Atholl.
- Catherine Stanley, woman of Henry Pierrepont, 1st marquis de Dorchester.
