Biography

Charlotte-Eléonore Magdeleine of Mothe-Houdancourt (1654 - 1744) Duchess of Ventadour, wife of Louis-Charles de Lévis, duke of Ventadour, rams Roberval of 1685 at 1744, Controlling royal children.

Charlotte Eléonore of Mothe-Houdancourt was born in 1654, junior by the three girls of Philippe of Mothe-Houdancourt, duke of Cardone, marshal, par of France and of Louise de Prie, Marquise of Toucy, controlling children of France. His/her older sister is: Francoise Angelica of Mothe-Houdancourt, rams of Fayel, born in 1650, married the November 28th 1669 with Louis-Marie-Victor born the December 9th 1632, Duc of Aumont and marquis de Villequier, deceased on April 5th, 1711, buried with Breaking into leaf, (portrait in Chantilly). His/her puînée sister is: Marie Isabelle Angelica of Mothe-Houdancourt, marries of the duke of the Ferté Senneterre, deceased in 1726.

1657: Death of his/her father. Charlotte is three years old.

March 14th, 1671: Marriage with Paris (at the 17 years age) with Louis-Charles de Lévis, 24 years old, duke of Ventadour, Baron of Rochemaure and governor of the the Limousin (1647-1717).

1673: Birth of their only daughter, Anne-Genevieve de Lévis Ventadour. (19 years)

Shortly after 1673: Maltreated by a publicly discharged husband, Charlotte leaves the marital home to go to Paris.

1685: Division of the goods of Henri of Mothe Houdancourt, his uncle. Charlotte had for her batch the ground the Roberval one (Oise) estimated at 52.800 £, the grounds of Rhuis and Saint Germain Verberie (Oise) estimated 40.000 £ and 2.846 £ 13 grounds 4 sums of money silver, which carried its third of succession to 95.646 £ 13 grounds 4 sums of money. Louis-Charles de Lévis-Ventadour thus becomes lord of Roberval.

1691: the girl of Charlotte, Anne-Genevieve, marries the February 16th 1691 Louis-Charles of the Tower of Auvergne, prince de Turenne, heir to the dukes of Bubble (born the January 14th 1665), it is 18 years old, her husband has 26 of them. It brings to him the seigniory of Roberval in dowry. August 4th, 1692: the husband of Anne-Genevieve dies in Enghien. Widow at 19 years, it remarie with Hercules Mériadec, duke of Rohan-Rohan, prince de Soubise and of Maubuisson, Governor of Champagne and Brie (1669-1749), 4 years older than it. It brings to him the seigniory of Roberval in dowry. Hercules will be lord of Roberval until his death in 1749, that is to say during 57 years.

1697: Anne-Genevieve and Hercules-Mériadec de Rohan, prince de Soubise have Louis-François-Jules de Rohan, prince de Soubise, captain-lieutenant of the gendarmes of the guard of the king. Charlotte is grandmother. (43 years).

1704: Like the barrel before it his/her mother, Charlotte is named controlling Duc of Brittany, first born of the backs small children of the king. It has the Château of Montpoupon (Touraine). Died of the small duke of Brittany. (50 years). 1707: Birth of the second duke of Brittany.

1709: Death of his/her mother, Louise de Prie, marchioness of Toucy, which was controlling Children of France.

1710: Birth of the duke of Anjou, future Louis XV.

1711: Died of the dolphin, Louis de France (1661-1711). His/her oldest son, the duke of Burgundy (28 years) becomes dolphin.

1712: Died of disease of the dauphine , soon followed dolphin and of their oldest son, Louis de France (1707-1712), the duke of Brittany. With the contempt of suitabilities, Charotte faces the authority of the doctors. It prevents them from approaching the duke of Anjou and itself looks after it. The child cures.

1715: Died of Louis XIV, accession with the throne of Louis XV. Regency of the Duke of Orleans. Birth of his/her back-small son Charles de Rohan, prince de Soubise.

1717: the small king " passes to the hommes". Its governor is François de Neufville de Villeroy, friend (even former lover) of Charlotte. He is 78 years old. Charlotte ceases being controlling it of Louis XV but is named lady-in-waiting of the duchess dowager of Orleans, mother of the regent (Mrs Palatine). Died from Louis-Charles, Charlotte is definitively released from her husband. (63 years).

About 1717: Mrs. de Ventadour is made paint, out of clothes of widow, company of Louis XIV (death in 1715), holding in edge the future Louis XV.

1722: Crowning of the king with Rheims. Died of Mrs Palatine

1723: Proclamation of the majority of the king. Government of the duke of Orleans which dies in the end of the year. Government of the duke of Bourbon, another prince of blood.

1725: Marriage of the king with Marie Leszczyńska with Fontainebleau.

1726: Death of his/her Marie sister. Disgrace of the Duke of Bourbon. Government of the Cardinal of Fleury.

1727: First royal births: binoculars. Charlotte becomes controlling it of the children of Louis XV. Its grand-daughter, the duchess of Talard, is named " survivancière" (assistant intended to succeed to him): the load remains in the family, proof of the confidence and the attachment of the king. (73 years)

1728,1729,1730,1732,1733,1734,1736,1737: Continuation and end of the royal births. In 1738, the princesses of less than 6 years are sent to the Abbaye of Fontevraud to complete their education for reasons of economy.

1744: Death at the 90 years age to the Castle of Glatigny (Versailles). Or is 85 years old in 1740.
