Charlotte Augusta of Wales

The princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales (born the January 7th 1796 and deceased the November 6th 1817) was a member of the British Royal family, become princess of Saxony-Cobourg-Saalfeld.

It is the single child of the king George IV of the United Kingdom and the princess Caroline of Brunswick.

Marriage

She married the May 2nd 1816 the prince Leopold of Saxony-Cobourg-Saalfeld (future king Léopold Ier of the Belgians). As a single legitimate child of the British sovereign, it was to inherit the crown, but it died in layers the November 6th 1817, after having put at the world a son who did not survive to him. This princess always loved her mother in spite of the wrongs that one charged to him.
