The élatif is, in Linguistique, a Cas expressing the place of the interior of which a movement comes. In certain languages, like the Finnish, the Estonian or the Hungarian, this case is marked by a specific Suffixe:

Examples:

  • suffix - sta/-stä in Finnish: talo “house” → talosta “(while leaving) of the house”;
  • suffix - St in Estonian: maja “house” → majast “(while leaving) of the house”;
  • suffix - ból/-ből in Hungarian: has ház “the house” → has házból “(while leaving) of the house”.

In addition, the élatif one is also one of the Degrés of the adjective, namely a form of absolute Superlatif. In Arab Grammar , however, one names élatif a form of the Adjectif being used with the Comparatif and the Superlatif, without inevitably of Notion of Absolu.
