Charlie McCoy

Charlie McCoy is a American Harmoniciste , specialized in the Country music. It was born with Oak Hill (the United States) the March 28th 1941.

Biography

Since its beginnings with the Harmonica, Charlie McCoy played with a great number of artists of the whole world like Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Cliff Richard, Johnny Cash, Eddy Mitchell and Yvette Horner.

It started to work in meetings of recording at the beginning of the Années 1960. After having taken part in the famous piece Candy Man , of Roy Orbison, Charlie McCoy becomes one of the Instrumentiste S per annum the most requested from Nashville with sometimes 400 recordings. For a few years, however, it has singularly reduced the number of these sessions in order to be devoted to rounds to the Japan and in Europe in addition to those to the USA.

Charlie McCoy started to carry out albums under the label Monument Records at the end of the years 1960: after The Real McCoy , left in 1969, eleven other albums are appeared under this label. It thus obtained many distinctions, including one Grammy Award . And, in spite of the years, it always receives nominations.

In addition to its work for its own albums, Charlie McCoy was member of two legendary groups in Nashville: Area Codes 615 and Barefoot Jerry. It is as recognized for its capacities to play of many instruments, others as the harmonica: low Guitar, , battery, Piano

In 1982, the label Monument Records puts an end to its activity, and Charlie records, with its group, One for the road , in 1986. It records then four albums under the label Step One Records .

Since, Charlie McCoy regularly makes rounds in Europe and in Japan, and it carried out several albums with Danish, French, and German companies.
