Charlie Gardiner

Charlie Robert Chuck Gardiner (born on December 31st, 1904 with Edinburgh in - deceased on June 13rd, 1934 with Winnipeg in Canada) was a professional guard of Hockey. It was of Scottish origin but had Canadian nationality all the same.

Career

It begins its career in 1925 in the central Ligue of hockey after its family joined the North America whereas it is 7 years old. He plays then in the American Association of hockey then made his beginnings in the National league of hockey in 1927. There will remain seven seasons within the team of the Blackhawks of Chicago and will gain twice the Trophée Vézina better guard of the season in 1932 and 1934. At the time of this last season, he is the captain of the team and leads his team to the victory of the Coupe Stanley at the conclusion of the eliminatory Séries. It is the first time that Blackhawks gain the Stanley Cut of their history.

Unfortunately, he dies three months after having gained the Stanley Cut of a intracerebral Hémorragie. He is then 29 years old.

In 1945, it allowed on a purely posthumous basis with the Temple of is re-elected hockey in 1945. It is only the member of the temple of Scottish origin.
