Charles of Stamps

Charles count ''' of Stamps ''', born in 1305, dead the September 5th 1336, wire of Louis de France, count d' Évreux and of Stamps, and Marguerite d' Artois.

His/her father gave him the Comté of Stamps that the king Charles IV Beautiful the set up in county-peerage in 1327. With died of this last, it was one of the first partisans of Philippe VI of Valois against Edouard III.

He married in 1335 Marie of Cerda (v. 1319 † 1379), grand-daughter of Alphonse X of Castille, girl of infant Fernand de Castille, lord of Lara, and Juana Nunez de Lara, and had:

* Louis d' Évreux (1336-1400), count d' Étampes
* Jean d' Évreux, born in 1336, died in Rome after 1373.

He died on September 5th, 1336 and was, according to Dom Basile Fleureau, buried in the church of the convent of Cordeliers of Paris, devastated by fire in the evening of November 19th, 1580. Its widow remaria with Charles II, count d' Alençon.
