Charles Michel (December 21st 1975) is a Belgian Politician , wire of Louis Michel and brother of Mathieu Michel. Bachelor of law, it is registered as lawyer at the bar of Brussels in 1998. (It should not be confused with the famous Belgian sinologist Charles Michel which inspired to the poet Victor Segalen the character of Rene Leys).
Political career:
- President of the Young Liberal Reformers of Jodoigne of 1992 to 1999
- To advise provincial of the Walloon Brabant of 1994 to 1999
- Vice-president of the provincial council of the Walloon Brabant of 1995 to 1999
- Federal Deputy of 1999 to 2000 and 2004 to 2007
- Walloon Minister for the Interior matters and the Public office of 2000 to 2004
- To advise communal of Wavre of 2000 to 2004; alderman as from 2004
- Burgomaster of the town of Wavre since 2006.
At the time of the legislative elections of June 10th, 2007, Charles Michel obtains 42.088 votes of preferences (district of the Walloon Brabant) and is re-elected appointed federal. He affirmed to have obtained the best penetration rate of Wallonia (report/ratio of votes preferably compared to the number of voters).
