Charles de Montesson (1608-1672)

Charles de Montesson , count of Montesson, knight lord of the known as place, Bais, Champgenesteux, Beschère, the Rock-Pichemer, Brée, the Curve, Huellière, the Key, Ardellière, Courteheuse, Bessièrre, large Montchauveau, the Mound-Guitet and Bordeaux, military French, in charge with ranks and honors, general lieutenant of the armies of his Majesty and marine artillery, horse-light captain of 100 .

Biography

Wire of Rene de Montesson and Renee of Rotours, baptized with Bais in 1608, lieutenant of the company of the light horsemen of Vendôme.

It goes purchaser of the Château of the Rock-Pichemer the May 22nd 1645 of Rene of Plessis, husband of Catherine Lamy, and her Marin brother of Plessis.

Henri François Groignet, marquis of Vase, baron of the Mabille Rock, Vidame of Mans, sold in 1664 to the count de Montesson, lord of Beschère and the Rock-Pichemer, the grounds of the Curve, Brée and Trancalou.

In 1674, it raised to its expenses a regiment for the service of the king. He had married, by contract in front of Lainé, notary with Paris, the June 24th 1636, Marie Prevost of Saint-Cyr military school, of which:

Guy, husband of Charlotte-Elisabeth de Chastillon of which it had only one girl, died in low age. It was killed with Argenton, in Poitou, 1672;

Marie, woman of Alexandre, marquis d' Aché.

Jean-Baptiste Colbert devotes this note to him: Count without county; old and good name; 25.000# of revenue, was useful under Mr. de Vendôme and in its interests; is estimated violent and the peasants complain some; has two children, by which the junior made the voyage of Hungary. . It was buried in the church of Bais the April 29th 1672.
