Charles de Brouckère

Charles de Brouckère (Bruges, 1796 - 1860) is a Belgian politician , of liberal tendency . Under the domination Dutchwoman, he was appointed with the second room of the general states. At the time of the Belgian Revolution of 1830, it is one of the leaders of the francophile party which recommends the annexation of Belgium by the France. He was elected with the National congress. After the election of Louis of Orleans the July 3rd 1831, it belongs to the delegation of Député S sent to Paris to propose the crown with the young prince. He was Minister for Finance (February 26th, 1831 - March 4th, 1831 and March 28th, 1831 - May 30th, 1831), of the Interior (August 3rd, 1831 - August 16th, 1831), of the War (August 16th, 1831 - March 15th, 1831). In 1835, it took part in the creation of the Banque of Belgium (private banking). He was also professor of economy to the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles. In 1848, it became burgomaster of Brussels (station which it will occupy until his death). At this station, it completed great work, in particular the installation of a drinking water network and the boring of the Avenue Louise. He is the brother of Henri de Brouckère, which was Prime Minister.
