Charles XV of Sweden

Carl XV (Carl Ludvig Eugén) (May 3rd 1826 - September 18th 1872) was King de Suède and of Norway (under the name of Charles IV ( Carl IV )) of 1859 until its death. He was the oldest son of King Oscar I {{er}} and of Joséphine de Leuchtenberg. June 19th 1851 it married Louise of the Netherlands, grand-daughter of Guillaume I {{er}} of the Netherlands.
Biography
Created Duke of Scania to his birth, Prince Royal was briefly Vice-roi of Norway in 1856 and 1857. He became regent on September 25th 1857, and King with died of his father the July 8th 1859. Like wire of Joséphine de Leuchtenberg, it descended from Gustave I {{er}} of Sweden and a sister of Charles X of Sweden, whose line found the throne after having lost it in 1818 with died of Charles XIII. Whereas he was Crown prince, the abrupt and direct manners of Charles created some apprehension concerning its future accession with the throne. It nevertheless proved to be one of the most popular kings de Scandinavie and a constitutional monarch in the best direction of the term. Its reign is marked by its reforms visionaries. Current the communal law (1862), ecclesiastical law (1863) and criminal law (1864) were written in a suitable way under the direction of a king whose currency was: Land skall med lag byggas - " The law must build the pays". Charles also supported Louis de Geer of way remarkable in order to conclude his memorable reform of the Riksdag in 1866.Charles was also a burning partisan of the Scandinavisme. Its policy of solidarity between the three kingdoms of north, his narrow friendship with Frederic VII of Denmark, would have carried out it, says one, to promise with half-word to help the Denmark the day before the war of 1864, which, in the circumstances, was perhaps misleading and unjustifiable. Nevertheless, considering the unpreparedness of the Swedish army and the difficulty related to the situation, Charles was forced to observe a strict neutrality. He is deceased with Malmö the September 18th 1872.
Charles XV was very gifted in several fields. He acquired a certain reputation as a painter and its poems show that he was a true poet. His/her brother Oscar II succeeded to him on the two thrones of Norway and Sweden.
A few weeks before the death of Charles, his daughter Louise (then Princess of Denmark) gave rise to her second wire. The young Prince of Denmark received the first name of his grandfather, Charles, to his baptism, and in 1905, assembled on the throne of Norway becoming thus the successor of his grandfather in this country under name of reign of Haakon VII. The current king of Norway Harald, is the back-back-small son of Charles by his mother.
None the descendants of Charles was king de Suède to date. Nevertheless, its descendants are or were on the thrones of Denmark, of Luxembourg, of Greece, of Belgium and Norway.
