Charles VI of France , known as Charles the Beloved , then Charles Fol , (born with Paris, the December 3rd 1368 - died with Paris, the October 21st 1422) was king de France of 1380 with 1422. Wire of Charles V and Jeanne de Bourbon.
He is the father, inter alia, of Charles VII, Isabelle de Valois, and of Catherine de Valois.
Biography
Charles VI of France , known as Charles the Beloved then Charles Fol (during the reign of Louis XV) is the fourth king of the Branche known as of Valois of the dynasty capétienne.
It receives the Dauphiné in Apanage. It succeeds his father in 1380 at the eleven years age while being crowned king de France in the cathedral of Rheims. During the minority of the young king, his uncles Jean de Berry and Philippe II of Burgundy ensure the regency of the kingdom. Charles is married as of the 16 years age to Isabeau of Bavaria, itself old of 14 ans.
Its minority is disturbed by the quarrels of the dukes of Anjou, of Burgundy, of Berry and of Bourbon, his/her uncles, who dispute the capacity and grow rich on the back by the population overpowered by the re-establishment by old taxes in January 1382. In next February, the town of Rouen revolts, the disorders reach Paris; Ier March 1382, of revolted, known under the name of Maillotin S, plunder the capital and kill the tax collectors with iron mallets. A terrible repression will fall down on rioters whose leaders are decapitated or hung without form of procès.
November 27th 1382, Charles VI takes share with the Bataille of Roosebecke, where Olivier V of Clisson beats the Flemish revolted.
November 1st 1388, Charles VI celebrates the All Saints' day with Rheims. Since October 28th, it stopped in Champagne with the return of a forwarding against the duke of Gueldre, combined English. The atmosphere is tended and the young king is exceeded after more than two months of bivouac and rides under cloudburst. The November 3rd, a large assembly of the Conseil of the king is held with the episcopal palate of Rheims. It is the cardinal of Laon, Pierre Aycelin de Montaigut, former adviser of Charles V, which puts the business on the carpet. Of its continuation, the archbishop of Rheims and the war leaders present think that the young sovereign - who will be 20 years old the next month - must control from now on itself. The decision is made: to close the meeting, Charles VI speaks and thanks his dear uncles “ for the sorrows and work which they had had of his person and the businesses of the kingdom ”: a manner polished, but firm, of the congédier. The dukes of Burgundy and Berry owe incliner.
To the beginning of its reign, he entrusts the government to former advisers of his father, like Bureau of the River, who will be called the Marmousets.
In 1392, it goes against Jean IV, Duc of Brittany, which gives asylum to Pierre de Craon, the man who had tried to assassinate the constable Olivier V of Clisson; but, the August 5th 1392, in the forest of the Mans, it starts to test crises of furious madness: howling with treason, it attacks its own troop and kills four people before being controlled. At the end of a few hours, its returned clearness, it is sorry and takes again the road. It is probable that it suffered from a bipolar Trouble (formerly maniaco-depressive psychosis). January 28th 1393, disastrous the Bal of burning the, where he sees four of his companions burning sharp, completes to make it sink in the madness.
In front of the incapacity of the king to control, the uncles take again their regency.

on the order of Jean without Fear, duke of Burgundy in 1407, France is divided into two parties, the Armagnac S, in favor of the duke of Orleans, and the Bourguignon S, in favor of the duke of Burgundy; a few years after, in 1419, the duke of Burgundy east in his turn assassinated in reprisals.

The Guerre One hundred Year old continues under its reign. Henri V, king d' Angleterre, benefitting from these disorders, arms against France: he gains the Bataille of Azincourt in 1415. He seizes the Normandy, then, being combined by the Traité of Troyes (1420) with the young duke of Burgundy, Philippe the Good, which had to avenge the murder for his/her father and with the queen Isabeau itself, he is made crown king de France (1421), after having married Catherine, girl of Charles VI. This one preserves nevertheless the title of king: his/her son, future Charles VII, control surface in the capacity as regent the States which remain to him.
According to the treated of Troyes, its successor was to be Henri V of England, but of many people, whose Jeanne d' Arc, considers the treaty invalid, asserting that the king had signed it under the influence of the madness. Moreover, the crown of France not belonging to the king, this one cannot have which it. His/her son Charles VII is finally crowned on July 17th 1429.
Charles VI is buried in the Basilique Saint-Denis, where it will be joined later on by Isabeau of Bavaria.
