Charles Rene Dominique Sochet of the Keys , often called knight Destouches , is a Militaire French born with Luçon on October 7th 1727 and deceased with Prinquiau on December 23rd 1793 or in 1794.
Entered the marine in 1743, it is named in 1780 chief of squadron (to replace Charles de Ternay) in the fleet of Rochambeau and Fayette, at the time of the Guerre of independence of the United States of America. It delivers on March 16th 1781 the Bataille of the course Henry against an English squadron in the Baie of Chesapeake.
