Charles Schneider
Charles Schneider (born on February 25th 1881 with Castle-Thierry and deceased in 1953) is a French Master-glassmaker of the Art Déco, raises Daum with Nancy and creator of the claw of glassmaking of art French Glass , with his/her Ernest brother.
Biography
The mark of manufacture " Charder Français" glass; was the greatest glassmaking of Art of Europe of the years 1920 - 1930. A great majority of its creations, very marked by the school of Nancy, are due to Charles Schneider.
The particular and judicious association of the forms, new colors (yellow, mauve, tango) and of the decorations make creations of this artist of the parts of exceptions, today very appraisals. The jewel cuts and the cuts with black foot, make the fame of the mark.
French glass , undertook 1926 with 1932 of the legal proceedings for plagiarism towards the company of Verrerie of Art Degué in Paris, property of the famous glass artist and industrialist David Guéron. This last ends up losing the lawsuit which failed to cost their existence the two rival companies.
