Charles Robert of Hungary

Charles Ier Robert , or Charobert of Anjou-Sicily ( Károly Róbert in Hungarian) born in 1288, died in Visegrad the July 16th 1342, king de Hongrie of 1308 with 1342, wire of Charles Martel of Hungary and Clemence de Habsbourg.
Biography
His/her father carried the title of king de Hongrie without seeking to take advantage of his rights on this throne. He was the son of the oldest son of Charles II of Anjou, king de Naples, but with died his/her grandfather, his uncle Robert the évinça and seized the throne.
It went then to Hungary to take advantage of its rights, but the support of the pope served it, the pope being then unpopular there. The death of its rival, Venceslas III (1306), and the skill of the Légat which accompanied it convainquirent the States of Hungary to elect it king in 1308.
Its military campaigns related to the enlarging of its kingdom and, at the end of its reign, it controlled the majority of the frontier states: the Dalmatie, the Croatia, the Serbia,… In 1314, it overcame Matthieu, Count Palatin, which had revolted against him; but it was beaten in 1330 by the Voïvode of Valachie, and was seen obliged to go to seek a refuge with Naples. It however returned in its States, demolished its enemies, and raised even Hungary with an high degree of splendor. He died in 1342, leaving the crown to his Louis son.
Marriages and children
He had married in first weddings Marie de Halicz, girl of Lev II, prince de Halicz, and this marriage remained without posterity.In second weddings, he married in 1306 Marie of Silesia († 1315), girl of the duke Casimir de Bytom. He did not have either of child of this marriage.
In third weddings, he married the June 24th 1318 Béatrice of Luxembourg (1305 † 1319), girl of the Germanic emperor Henri VII of Luxembourg and Marguerite of the Brabant. They had a child, born and died in 1319. Beatrice probably died in layers
Lastly, he married the July 6th 1320 Elisabeth Piast (1305 † 1380), girl of Ladislas I {{er}} the Brief and of Hedwige Piast. They had:

- * Louis Ier Large the (1326 † 1382), king de Hongrie and of Poland
- * Andre Ier of Naples (1327 † 1345), duke of Calabria, married to Jeanne Anger of Naples
- * Catherine († 1355), married in 1338 in Henri II, duke of Schweidnitz († 1345)
- * Etienne (1332 † 1354), duke of Transylvania, Slavonia, Croatia and Dalmatie. He married in 1351 Marguerite of Bavaria (1325 † 1374) and had:
- Elisabeth de Slavonie (1352 † 1380), married in 1370 with Philippe II of Tarente (1329 † 1374)
- Jean de Slavonie (1354 † 1363)
- * Ladislas (1324 † 1329)
