Charles Robert de Nesselrode

Charles Robert de Nesselrode or Karl Robert (in Russian: КарлВасильевичНессельроде ) born the December 14th 1780 with Lisbon, dead the March 23rd 1862 with Saint-Pétersbourg is a Russian Diplomate.

He born in Lisbon, where his/her father was ambassador of Russia, left a noble saxonne family.

To advise embassy with Paris in 1807, it revealed with the emperor Alexandre I {{er}} the secret armaments which Napoleon made and gained by there its confidence. It took part in all the great negotiations of the time, signed in 1814 the Traité of Chaumont, negotiated with Marmont the rendering of Paris, sat at the Congrès of Aix-ia-Vault, Troppau, Laybach, Vérone, became in 1821 Foreign Minister and was one of the most dedicated agents of the the Holy Alliance and the policy of compression. He concludes the treated Turkey-red cotton (1829) and from Unkiar-Skelessi (1833), which put the Turkey at the thank you of Russia.

It is also him which made conclude the treaty of March 15th, 1840, which drew aside France in the European concert. At the time of the War of the East, it showed the provisions more reconciling and prepared the Traité of Paris (1856). Nesselrode represented in Russia the German party, opposed to the Russian party which the Prince Menzikoff personified.
