Charles Rappoport

Charles Rappoport (1865 - 1941), French Communist militant of Russian origin.

Marxist, it militates with SFIO. In 1914, it denounces acceptance by SFIO of the First World War, the vote of the appropriations of war, and the participation in the government “of sacred union”. After the war, it militates within the SFIO so that the party joins the Internationale Communist. At the time of the Congress of Turns in December 1920, it makes party of the majority which founds the French Section of the International Communist (who will become later the PCF).

Following the Stalinisation of PCF, it is isolated responsibilities. In major dissension with the line of the party and its support for the Soviet Union, it will leave PCF in 1938.
