Charles Pieri
Charles Pieri (born in April 1950 with Bastia) is militant a Corsican nationalist, which militates for the independence of the island. He is the father of Christophe Pieri.
Initially trade unionist CFDT in his youth, Charles Pieri launches out in nationalism to the beginning of the year 1980. He becomes at the end of the years 1990 the main leader of FLNC and is in open fight with his former friend François Santoni. He has escaped with an car bomb attack on July 1st 1996 in Bastia (Haute-Corse).
He is regarded today as one of the main leaders of FLNC Union of the combatants (FLNC CPU), one of the two current clandestine organizations Corsican nationalists.
Charles Pieri has friendships in the medium gangster, in particular with Francis Mariani, one of the chief of the Gang of the Breeze of sea. He was condemned in 2005 to ten years of prison for financial embezzlements in relation to a terrorist enterprise, pains reduced at eight years in call.

Charles Pieri was recognized guilty of a series of embezzlements while drawing from the accounts of several companies. If these punctures were used to finance its personal needs, like that of its close relations and its trustworthy.

It is suspected of having taken money on the receipts of the Hotel of the Gulf, in Saint-Florent (Haute-Corse) and of the company Corsica Gardiennage Services (CGS), two companies of which it was one of the codirigeants in fact.

100 000 euros seem to be last account of the hotel of the Gulf of Saint-Florent towards his own account.

the money of Corsica Gardiennage Services (CGS) would have been used with the purchase as advertizing inserts in the independence magazine U Ribombu. The investigation all the same highlighted the “close connections and close friends between CGS and the person who plants bombs” of FLNC-UC. CGS constituted a “reserve with soldiers” of the paramilitary group. Premiums were thus poured with those which took part in attacks.

Lawsuit in first authority

on May 20th, 2005, Charles Pieri is condemned to ten years of prison, for “abuses good social” and “criminal association with a terrorist enterprise”. His/her friend Charles Philippe Paoli, 36 years, is condemned to seven years of prison in first authority.
Appeal

In November 2005, Charles Pieri was rejugé by the Court of Appeal of Paris.
