Charles Paul Alexander is a American Entomologiste , born the September 25th 1889 with Gloveresville and dead the December 3rd 1981 in the Massachusetts.

He is the son of Emil Alexander and Jane born Parker. He enters to the Université Cornell in 1909 and receives his Bachelor off Sciences in 1913 and his pH. D. in 1918. Of 1917 with 1919, he is entomologist at the university of the Kansas then, of 1919 with 1922, with that of Illinois.

He then becomes professor of entomology to the Massachusetts Agricultural College of Amherst. Alexander there directs the department of entomology and zoology during ten years and is senior of the university during three years. It off chairs the Entomological Society America of 1941 1943. He studies the Diptère S in particular those of the S Tipulidae. He is the author of more than thousand publications where he describes more than ten miles species. His wife, Mabel, die in 1979. In 1981, it off bequeaths its collection to the National Museum Natural History of Washington.
