Charles Moffett

Charles Sr. " Mack" Moffett (Fort Worth, Texas, September 11th 1929 - New York, New York, February 14th 1997) is a beater, a trumpet player and a vibraphonist of American Jazz . It is known mainly for its participation in the trio of Ornette Coleman of 1961 to 1967. Both originating in Forth Worth, they played already together as of adolescence. Moffet was also the appointed beater of the Firebirds of Prince Lasha. He is the father of several children become musicians: Codaryl (percussion), Mondre (trumpet), Charles Jr. (saxophone tenor), and Charnett Moffett (low), by far most famous of the four.
