Charles Milcendeau
Charles Milcendeau (1872 - 1919) is a French painter. Wire of landlords of Soullans in the Vendée, it made its studies with the Roche-sur-Yon then with Nantes. He worked then in the workshop of Gustave Moreau in Paris. He bound friendship with Rouault and Matisse.
Having acquired a property with Durand Wood, in his native commune, in the middle of the Breton Marsh where it passed part of the year. He died there brutally at the 47 years age in 1919.
A museum is partly devoted to him to Durand Wood in Soullans in the Vendée.
