Charles Meynier was a French painter, born with Paris in 1768 and died in Paris in 1832.

He is the pupil of François-Andre Vincent.
- It gains in 1789 a second first Grand Prix with the Prix of Rome.
- It carries out drawings for the low-reliefs and statues of the Triumphal arch of the Carousel
- He is member as of 1816 with the Académie of the Art schools
Works
- a whole of nine fabrics representing the Muses is preserved in Suisse at the castle of Wallenreid, (the Jura), source: Ghislain de Diesbach, “a nest of memories in Switzerland” Knowledge of Arts , n° 192, February 1968, pages 62-67. It is at the time of a stay in Paris that the general Castela de Berlens, bought his works ordered by Jean-Baptiste Boyer-Fonfrède.
