Charles Maurice Cabart-Danneville

Biography

Charles Maurice Cabart Danneville , born on June 24th, 1846 in Paris and died in this same city on July 26th, 1918, is a French politician. He was elected Député of Cherbourg in 1889 and was re-elected in 1893 then senate or of the Manche of 1897 until his death. He was also mayor of Tourlaville of 1900 to 1901.

Member of the Commission of the budget in 1891, Member of the Commission of the accounts, the Commission of administrative reform, that of primary school education, that of the Navy, Charles-Maurice Cabart-Danneville is the author of a great number of private bills and reports/ratios.

He also makes countryside against the purchase by foreigners, grounds and islands which can become strategic points in the event of armed conflict. Registered at the center left, it is however rather preserving, voter against the law of 1905.

It makes bore one of the dams of the port of Cherbourg, the Collignon dam, so that the fishermen can put themselves safe from the roads quickly, in the event of heavy weather. The master key became later the Cabart-Danneville master key.

He marries in first wedding, Marguerite-Anne Doucet with whom he will have a son, Maurice, and a girl, then in second weddings, Helene Carrier (with which he will have a girl, Helene-Renee) who had a correspondence very followed with Louis Beuve and has well-known Louise Michel.

His/her son has itself be senator of the Manche, while his/her father, Charles François (1813 - 1884) which had three children, was the godson of Charles-François Lebrun.
