Charles 1st Louis of Palatinat , Count Palatine of the Rhine, born in 1617, is the son of Frederic {{V}}, Count Palatine.

After the Treated of Westphalia (1648), it returned in possession of Bas-Palatinat, which his/her father had lost, and obtained, of compensation for the remainder of its hereditary States, the nomination of an eighth electorate, who was created in his favor, as well as the load of Architrésorier of the empire. In 1673, it entered the league formed against the France. The following year, Turenne having punished, by the fire of thirty boroughs of the Palatinat, excesses to which the inhabitants of this country had delivered themselves towards the French, the voter made him carry, says one, a challenge in singular combat. He died in 1680.

He marries Charlotte de Hesse-Cassel, girl of Amélie Elisabeth de Hanau-Münzenberg

Charles, his son and successor, died in 1685, was the last voter of the house of Wittelsbach-Simmern. His/her daughter, Charlotte-Elisabeth, known as Liselotte or the Palatine Princess, was the second wife of Mister, brother of Louis {{XIV}}, the mother of the Régent and corresponding prolix and spiritual.
