Biography
During the year 1576, the possessions of the dynasty of Hohenzollern were shared between three wire of Charles Ier de Hohenzollern.Eitel-Frederic Ier de Hohenzollern-Hechingen accepted the principality of Hechingen,
Christophe de Hohenzollern-Haigerloch accepted the principality of Haigerloch,
Charles II accepted the principality of Sigmaringen.
In 1576, it founded the line of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.
Charles II of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen made rebuild the castle of Sigmaringen. In 1606, it ordered the construction of a church close to the castle. In 1595, it acquired of the locality of Krauchenwies, this one remained closely related to the county of Sigmaringen. During the transfer of the principality in 1850, this locality was incorporated in the kingdom of Prussia.
