Charles II of Anjou

Charles II of Anjou , known as the Lame , born in 1254, dead the May 6th 1309 with Naples, titrated as of its birth prince de Salerne, then, after the death of his/her parents, king de Naples (or Peninsular Sicily), count de Provence, of Anjou and of Maine of 1285 with 1309, wire of Charles Ier of Anjou and Beatrice of Provence.

Biography
With died of his mother, he was count of Provence and controlled this county. After the Sicilian Vespers, it joined his/her father with Naples and assumed regency while his/her father went in France to arm a fleet. During an engagement against the fleet aragon ease ordered by Roger de Lauria, there was made prisoner in 1284 and remained captive with Barcelona during four years. When his/her father died, it was in captivity. Released, it was made crown king de Naples. He unnecessarily endeavoured to reconquer Sicily which his/her father had lost; but it controlled its people with more softness and of wisdom that him. He renonça with the fight, in spite of the quarrelsome pressures of the pope Nicolas V and the count d' Artois, and concludes a truce in 1289 with Aragon and a treaty by which he recognized Sicily with Frederic d' Aragon and giving him in marriage his/her Eléonore daughter
He died in 1309, leaving the throne to his Robert son. Another of its sons, Charles-Martel, disputed in André III the throne of Hungary, 1290.

He marries in 1270 Mária of Hungary (towards 1245 † March 25th, 1323), girl of Etienne V, king of Hungary and Elisabeth of Bosnia, sister and heiress of Ladislas IV, king de Hongrie. They had:
