Charles Fitzpatrick

the very honourable to sir Charles Fitzpatrick , G.C.M.G, C.P. (Holy-Foy December 19th 1853 with - June 17th 1942 with Quebec) was a lawyer and Canadian politician . It was Juge as a chief of the Supreme court of Canada.
Born with Quebec (Canada-Is), wire of John Fitzpatrick and Mary Connelly, it is called with the bar of Quebec in 1876 and founds the firm of Fitzpatrick & Taschereau. In 1885, he is the lawyer of Louis Riel at the time of the lawsuit of this one to have carried out the Rébellion of the North-West. Riel is declared guilty and condemned to death.
Fitzpatrick launches out in policy and is made elect with the legislative Assemblée of Quebec, under the banner of the Liberal party of Quebec, at the time of the Québécois general election of 1890. He is initially elected with the House of Commons of Canada under the banner of the Liberal party of Canada at the time of the federal election of 1896. He is Solicitor General of Canada of 1896 with 1902, then Minister for Justice and public prosecutor of Canada of 1902 with 1906. He is named with the Supreme court of Canada as a judge as a chief and is used for this station until he is named Lieutenant-governor Quebec in 1918.
He is the only judge as a chief, other that to sir William Buell Richards, to have occupied this station without initially to have been judge associated with the court. (Richards was the judge as a chief during the creation of the court in 1875).
He dies the June 17th 1942 with Quebec.
