Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg is the son of the Austrian painter Karl Joseph Kuwasseg, with which it will take his first steps of artist.Raise Jean-Baptiste Durand-Brager and of Eugene Isabey, Charles E. Kuwasseg will forsake a time painting to become sailor with the Length-course. He specialized in the landscapes, in the mobility of the school of Barbizon. Kuwasseg had like subjects of predilection the ports Breton S and Norman S like those of the North Sea and the villages alpine. He will collaborate with Theophilus Poilpot on various series of tables.
From 1855 Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg will expose regularly to the Salon of Paris where it will obtain many rewards. Thereafter, he became professor of art, and will have in particular as a pupil Emile Clarel. Controlling to perfection the art of the Contrast and showing an exceptional smoothness, Charles E. Kuwasseg was one of the most admired painters 19th century.
Certain works of Charles Kuwasseg (oils on fabrics or panels) are in particular visible with the museums of the fine arts of Rouen and Rennes like in Maltwood art museum of the University of Victoria (Canada).
