Charles Emile Seurre
Charles Marie Emile Seurre known as young Seurre is a French sculptor born with Paris in 1798 and died in this same city in 1858.
Biography
Raise of the sculptor Pierre Cartellier, Emile Seurre gained in 1824 the Prix of Rome of sculpture with a relief having for subject the Tunic of Joseph brought back to Jacob.Like his older brother, Bernard Seurre, it took part in the diffusion of the Napoleonean legend. He was especially known for his statues of the series of the “great men”.
His/her older brother Bernard Seurre (1795 - 1867) was also sculptor.
