Charles Dwight Marsh is a American biologist , born the December 20th 1855 with Hadley, Massachusetts and died in 1932.

He is the son of J. Dwight Marsh and Sarah born Ingram. He obtains his Bachelor off Arts with the Amherst College in 1877, his Master off Arts in 1880. It Marie with Florence Lee Wilder the December 27th 1883.

Marsh teaches the Chimie and the Biologie in Ripon College (Wisconsin) of 1883 with 1889, then only the biology of 1889 with 1904 and provides the function of senior of 1900 1904. He teaches biology in Earlham College of 1904 with 1905. In 1905 with 1915, within the service on the industrial plants of the American ministry of agriculture, it specializes on the physiology of the poisonous plants. As from 1915 and until its departure with the retirement in 1931, it deals with the same subject in the service of the livestock production. It obtains a doctorate with the Université of Chicago in 1904 and an honorary doctorate of sciences in 1927.

In addition to its work on the poisonous plants, it is interested in particular in the Crustacé S and is in particular named preserving fee of the department of Carcinologie of the National Museum off Natural History.
