Charles Daudelin
Charles Daudelin (Granby October 1st 1920 - Kirkland April 2nd 2001) was a Sculpteur and a painter Québécois.
He affirmed himself like pioneer in the integration of art to public space. He created many public works, among which:
- the retable of the vault Sacred Heart of the Basilica Notre-Dame with Montreal;
- of works in the Viger Square in Montreal and the Place from Quebec in Paris;
- of the Mount-Royal aluminum joints at the station and of large sculptural grids at the Langelier station in the subway of Montreal;
- a sculpture on the Place from Quebec, in Paris: Embâcle ;
- the fountain of the Station of the Palate of Quebec.
Its last work to be inaugurated, the Passage of April 2nd , wants to point out the date of its death. It is installed in front of the old town hall of Kirkland. It was sold at the city several years before the death of the artist, but was installed only after the death of its creator.
Daudelin also created several works in religious matter, of which a vault for cloitrées sisters.
