Charles Cornic
Charles Cornic of Chesne (born the September 5th 1731 with Morlaix (old commune of Ploujean) - died the September 12th 1809 in the same city) was a sailor French 18th century, which was in turn naval officer and Corsaire.
Biography
Born with the castle from Suscinio with Ploujean-les- Morlaix and wire from a sailing ship-owner, it is foam on the boats of his father and makes fishing in Newfoundland. It is made prisoner twice on ships corsairs, then becomes, in 1757, royal naval officer (lieutenant of frigate) at the time of the Guerre Seven Year old to have forced the blockade British and brought to Brest of the hemp of Holland. It practices then the war of race and captures many British ships with their invaluable cargoes of the Indies. For these exploits, it is named captain of scathing attack in 1761 and captain in 1778, then, returned peace, devotes himself to raise the plans of the Rade S and the coasts of Bréhat with Roscoff. The day before the Revolution, he is artillery colonel with Bordeaux and rejoined with the revolutionary ideas, he takes up political and maritime duties with Morlaix. -----
