Charles Colmore Grant

Charles Colmore Grant was baron de Longueuil of 1879 to 1898. Wire, of the baron Charles James Irwin Grant, it was the last of the barons de Longueuil to be lived with the Quebec. In 1880, it presented a petition to the Queen of England so that the title of baron de Longueuil (until there a title resulting from colonialism French with the Canada) is recognized by the crown. The first baron, Charles II Moyne was of French origin, but the baronnie passed to the hands of an English family without however being recognized by the monarch. The queen acquiessa with her request, considering no privilege accompanied that to carry the title of baron. Charles Colmore Grant died in 1898. His/her half-brother Reginald Charles succeeded to him.
