Charles Burns
Charles Burns , born the September 27th 1955 with Washington (the United States), is an illustrator and author of cartoons.
Having always evolved/moved in the trades of creation, Burns is not interested in the cartoon that after her meeting with Art Spiegelman in the Eighties, when this one invites it to take part in Raw Magazine . He is in particular the author of El Borbah , Big Baby and of the series Black Hole whose production asks for ten years of work to him. He also completed many work of illustration, one of most known being the small pocket of the album Brick by Brick of Iggy Pop. He also works in the publicity and in particular on a pub campaign of the mentholated pastilles " Altoids". In 1992, it designed the decorations for nut-crackers (fame of Hardware/Nut/La Noix Lasts) chorégraphiée per Mark Morris and represented in Brooklyn Academy off Music. It also carried out covers for Time Magazine, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone… It was appointed official illustrator of the covers of the magazine the believer as of its launching in 2003.
The integral of Black Hole belongs to “Essential of Angouleme” decreed at the time of the Festival of Angouleme 2007.

Black Hole : in an American small town, mbiance years 1950, strange phenomena are declared at the teenagers. A new disease, called " the Ado" plague; or " the crève" , with symptoms as varied as unforeseeable, some bumps, an unpleasant cutaneous irruption or even the appearance of novel members, brutally will change the relationship between the young people.
